A catch-all e-mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your email address is [email protected], but someone misspells it and sends an email message to [email protected], it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have set up. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss emails because the other party has an out-of-date email address or has made a spelling mistake. The negative aspect of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of unsolicited bulk messages, but this problem can be solved by using anti-spam protection software. It is also important to know that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound messages to a 3rd-party address.
