Multiple OS
Find out which Operating Systems you may run on your server.
Every PC or server is run by an Operating System - the low-level software that communicates with the computer hardware, including peripheral devices such as a mouse and a printer, as well as any apps that are present on the system. Any program input through a command line or a Graphical User Interface (GUI) is processed by sending an Application Program Interface (API) request to the OS. On a server, every single application runs within the parameters defined by the OS as well - priority, physical memory, processing time, and so on. This is valid for both standard website scripts and server-side software such as a media server. If a virtual server is set up on a physical one, there can be two different Operating Systems, referred to as guest OS and host OS, so you'll be able to set up a different software environment on a single machine.

Multiple OS in VPS Servers
Our
VPS server packages feature three Linux distributions that you may pick from for the Operating System of your new web server - Debian, Ubuntu and CentOS. Aside from being 100 % free, the OSs are really stable and protected and the main reason to offer the three of them is to make sure that you'll be able to run any app that you'd like, because different pieces of software may have different requirements with regards to the environment they can be used on. Each one of the three OSs is supported by a huge community of web developers who have developed a large number of software packages that you can install and use on your VPS. Based on the Operating System that you pick, you will also be able to select between 3 different Control Panels to manage your web hosting content. Also, should you decide that you need a different OS, we could always re-install the server with it. As an additional upgrade, we also offer you weekly updates of the OS for max stability and security.

Multiple OS in Dedicated Servers
We offer three Operating Systems with our
dedicated server solutions - CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian. They're all different Linux distributions and we offer them not only because they're 100 % free so they won't increase the low price of your new hosting server, but also because they are really secure and stable. Each of them is supported by a vast community of web developers, so you'll be given the option to choose from a myriad of software packages that you can install on your server if the application that you want to use has certain requirements. The Operating System will also determine what hosting Control Panel you can use since the Control Panels that we offer run on specific OSs only and since we would like to provide you with as much flexibility as possible, we offer multiple OSs and multiple Control Panels. If you get a server with a certain Operating System, we will change it upon request if it turns out that you will need alternative one. We can also keep the OS updated on a weekly basis as a part of the optional Managed Services upgrade.
